Study on Prospecting Potential of Chounikou Gold Deposit in the Middle of Taihang Mountains

Abstract:

Chounikou gold deposit is located on the south side of Mapeng granitic intrusion in the middle of Taihang Mountains,and is an important gold metallogenic target area discovered in recent years in the Mapeng area.The ore-forming geological condition is superior in the area,which is characterized by the near SN trending and NW trending mineralized alteration zones with intensive distribution and large scale.On the basis of taking the mantle branch structure metallogenetic theory as a guide and analyzing the geological characteristics of the mining area,the paper points out the faults are the main ore-controlling factors of the deposit;the ore-forming materials are mainly from the deep earth and the mineralization-solutions are mainly from the magmatic water;during the strong tectonic activity of Fuping mantle branch structure in the Yanshanian period,the deep ore-forming material which could be carried in the Mapeng granitic intrusion,migrated upward to the shallow favorable structural position of SN trending and NW trending fracture zones,ect.,for the enrichment and the mineralization.On the basis of this,it puts forward the future prospecting direction.
