The steady stope is security assurance of mining in deep metal mines.Due to engineering geological conditions of a mine in Yunnan as well as occurrence characteristics of orebody,the maximum exposed area was calculated by Mathew method,and the maximum exposed area obtained with Mathew stability diagram method was 600 m2 and 684 m2,respectively,as the stopes long were 30 m and 40 m.The simulation verification was used by two methods of numerical simulation,both the maximum exposed area obtained with two numerical simulation were between 600~700 m2.Research results illustrate that data obtained with those two methods can meet mining security requirement in stope.By comparing two kinds of numerical modeling simulation method,meanwhile,the simplified modeling numerical simulation method is superior to the conventional modeling numerical simulation method.
