A low grade lead-zinc ore in Shandong Province was examined by XRD and SEM,the results showed that lead mineral exist mainly as cerusite and zinc minerals exist mainly as dolomite, smithsonite and willemite. The effect of grinding fineness on the recovery of lead and zinc was studied. At the optimal grinding fineness of 84%(-0.074 mm),the lead-zinc ore was treated by sodium sulfide, followed by butyl xanthate and ethyl dithio carbamate as combined collectors and terpenic oil as frother. As a result that the lead concentrate with recovery rate of 61.17% and grade of 57.11% was obtained. The lead tailing was treated with copper sulfate to activate zinc ore, followed by butyl xanthate as collector and terpenic oil as frother, the result showed that the zinc concentrate with recovery rate of 31.45% and grade of 35.24% was obtained, achieving a satisfactory separation result.Experimental results show that the effect of vulcanization is larger on the activation of dissociation lead oxide minerals, and a good recovery rate can be obtained under the condition of the best grinding fineness.
