district Sokor is located in the Northern section of Central gold mineralization belt,Malaysia Peninsula. The ore deposits are occurred in a series of low-grade metamorphic volcanic-sedimentary rocks of Permian-Triassic. To study the genesis of gold deposit in Sokor, the characters of lithology, composition, trace elements and REE elements have been conducted. The results show that:the protoliths of these rocks are characterized by relatively high, aluminum, high LREE,and noticeable enrichment in both HFSE such as Nb,Ta,Ti and LILE including Rb,Th,which have the typical characteristic of island arc volcanic.Tectonic setting discrimination of metamorphic rocks indicates that they formed in island arc environment of active continental margin.
